Our parent organization SVYASA, based in Bangalore is world renowned for its research based application of yoga. The Swami Vivekananda Yoga Research Foundation was recognized as a Scientific & Industrial Research Organization by the Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India as early as 1988 as it was conducting path breaking work in evaluating the therapeutic use of yoga.
SVYASA, is today a premier yoga research university which has published more than 400 research papers, with several more in the pipeline, in leading peer reviewed national and international journals. In India, it also houses one-of-its-kind a 250-bed inpatient treatment facility called Arogyadhama. It works toward prevention and treatment of diseases, long-term rehabilitation and promotion of positive health.
At the university, there are now 50 PhD candidates, 100 enrolled in the Masters program and over 500 students in various other branches.
In Los Angeles, research is being conducted on Effect of Integrated Approach of Yoga Therapy on Irritable Bowel Syndrome: A Randomized Controlled Study
The study has been set up by VYASA-LA and White Memorial Medical Center (WMMC) at White Memorial Medical Center, Los Angeles The study aims to find if yoga is a viable alternative option to be included for IBS patients. The study’s findings should help to include yoga in an IBS patient’s lifestyle and help enhance the quality of life.
